Choshi Sushi, Gramercy
I’m such a foodslut (i.e. I get around) so it’s near impossible for me to pick a favorite food. The thought of committing to just one is frightening. But if for whatever reason I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would have to be sushi.
Choshi was a quaint little place. It was very quiet for lunch time when we went. We had initially gone for the lunch specials, but were distracted by some of the menu items that stood out. The Spicy Choshi Roll was the show stopper - spicy tuna, cucumber, scallions, and tempura flakes, with red pepper on the outside. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but a winning combination. We also had the obligatory california and philly rollls (also delicious) as well as a spicy shrimp roll. Fresh and flavorful. I overestimated my hunger level, as I tend to do occasionally, and also ordered a zaru soba, which was good, but more food than I needed.
